“Take Courage” by The Rev. Kaji Douša

Recent revelations have helped me to understand that a number of us — people perceived as potentially political dissidents, or anyone who is not agreed with by people in power – are finding themselves targeted on lists — like the list that I now have learned to be on. And for anyone who is wondering what our place is in this country, and what our voice should be, and what risks we’re taking when we speak up and speak out against injustice, I want you to take courage. And I borrow from Jesus’ own words, where in Luke chapter 13 we hear him say, as his disciples were warning him that Herod was hot in pursuit of him, here’s what Jesus said: “Go tell that fox, No.” If the fox is after you, no matter if the fox’s hair is orange or any color, you “tell that fox, No—I am busy casting out demons.” Amen.
