“In What are You Immersed?” – from The Rev. Kaji Douša

October 20th,2022 Categories: Weekly Letter

Dearly Beloved,

This coming Sunday, our hearts will be full. This will be Rev. Stephanie’s final Sunday as Executive Minister at the Park. Please do come and offer her your prayers and support, which mean so much!

The scripture is the story of Jesus’ baptism, as we reflect on the ways we immerse ourselves. I invite you to ask: in what am I immersed?

Finally, we will have the opportunity to share in the celebration of my child’s baptism!

It promises to be a full day. Please join us – in person or online.

Love,
Pastor Kaji

Scripture: Matthew 3:13-17 (Year W):

13 Then Jesus came from Galilee to John at the Jordan, to be baptized by him. 14 John forbade him, saying, “I need to be baptized by you, yet you come to me?” 15 But Jesus answered him, “Let it go now; for this way is proper for us to fulfill all righteousness.” Then John let it go. 16 Now when Jesus had been baptized, just as he came up from the water, suddenly the heavens were opened to him and he saw the Spirit of God, she descended like a dove and came upon on him. 17 And a voice from the heavens said, “This is my Son, the Beloved, with whom I am well pleased.”
