When Jonah couldn’t open his eyes? God sent messengers.
When Jonah couldn’t even will himself to pray? God waited & kept him safe.
When Jonah needed faith? God graced him with it.
When Jonah had to find his way? God showed him that way.
When Jonah curled into himself in the desert? God gave him the cool of shade.

Surrounded by the deep, Jonah prayed.
Because, he realized, that even though the waters closed in over him
Even though it seemed like it was over:
God made a provision.

When you can’t see God or find the strength to call out in prayer?
God will bring you the cool in the scorching heat
Waiting until you’re ready to turn to God and say:
Thank you.
