A Statement from The Park on Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA) in the U.S.

Park Avenue Christian Church affirms not only the need but the value of Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals (DACA). As followers of Christ Jesus, we see the image of Christ in every person, including immigrants, strangers and neighbors. The actions taken today by the United States Government against the immigrant community, is sinful, rooted in white supremacy, and must be rebuked. God’s beloved community is radically welcoming and compassionate, and not built or created with identification paperwork or documented status. For as the scriptures say “[You] are no longer strangers and aliens, but you are citizens with the saints and also members of the household of God.” (Eph. 2:19, NRSV)
