A Message from Pastor Kaji

Sunday April 14

Dear Church:
We continue in the Eastertide season with yet another exciting worship service planned. This week, our text is one of my favorite in the entire Bible, from Isaiah 43. In my meditation this week, I share a few examples of times when I have turned to this text in my ministry.

As you prepare for Sunday, I encourage you to think about times when you have experienced what Isaiah describes. How do you feel God’s presence when you need it most?

I can’t wait to hear from you. This Sunday, I’ll be taking some much-needed sabbath rest, but I have a word queued up to share, while the Elders lead worship. (Thank you, beloved Elders!)

God bless you and keep you, church. See you soon!

Pax Christi,
Pastor Kaji

SCRIPTURE
Isaiah 43:1–3a, 5–7 (Year B, p. 169):

1 And now, thus says the MAKER OF ALL,
the one who created you, Jacob [Rebekah’s seed],
the one who formed you, Israel [of Sarah’s line]:
Do not fear, for I have redeemed you;
I have called you by name, you are mine.
2 For when you pass through the waters, I will be with you;
and through the rivers, they shall not overwhelm you;
even when you walk through fire you shall not be burned,
and the flame shall not scorch you.
3 For I am the INCOMPARABLE ONE your God,
the Holy One of Israel, your Savior.
5 Fear not, for with you am I;
from the east will I bring your seed,
and from the west will I gather you.
6 I will say to the north, “Release them!”
and to the south, “Do not keep [them];
bring my sons from far away
and my daughters from the end of the earth.”
7 Everyone who is called by my name,
whom I created for my glory,
whom I formed and made.
