Sunday February 4

Click here for Pastor Kaji’s sermon “When You’ve Had Enough” from last Sunday

Dear Church:

We continue our series on listening and watching for God’s revelation with one of my very favorite passages in the Bible: Jesus’ baptism. As you prepare for worship, I encourage you to think about Abba’s words as the Holy Spirit descends, like a dove. Have you been baptized? If you haven’t, have you considered it? What does this baptism mean to and for you?

After worship this Sunday, we have an exciting opportunity to talk through the draft Strategic Plan that I have developed for the church in a Town Hall. I do hope that you will join us online or in person. This plan helps us to think big about where God is calling the church to go in its next season, and your voice matters! The plan won’t be done until we hear from you. So please do join us.

I can’t wait to see you on Sunday!

With Love,

Pastor Kaji

SCRIPTURE
Mark 1:9-13 (Year B, p. 203):

9 And it was in those days that Jesus came from Nazareth of Galilee and was baptized by John in the Jordan. 10 And just as he was rising up out of the water, he saw the heavens torn apart and the Spirit [she was] descending like a dove on him. 11 And a voice came from the heavens, “You are my beloved Son; with you am I well pleased.” 12 Then the Spirit suddenly drove Jesus out into the wilderness. 13 He was in the wilderness forty days, tempted by Satan, and he was with the wild beasts, and the angels waited on him.
