Children and Youth Ministry Update from The Rev. Francesca Fortunato

November 30th,2018 Categories: Latest News
Dear Park People,

On November 25th, ‘though a Sunday school lesson had been planned and prepared, the Park Sunday school children were all still busy with family time and post-Thanksgiving travel. In their absence, Ms. Glenda, Ms. Laura, and I, held an impromptu Sunday school staff meeting, and did some brainstorming about our hopes and wishes for the new children’s ministry space. The lesson on Psalm 93, about seeing God in the natural world, will be filed away for possible future use.

On December 2nd, the Sunday school children will read Luke 21: 25-28. We will discuss, “What might the shepherds have thought, when they saw the baby Jesus? What would you think, if you witnessed that scene?” For our creative response activity, we will make Christmas tree decorations shaped like shepherd’s crooks (or candy canes) from multi-colored, metallic sparkle pipe cleaners. Some of those will be taken home; others placed on the Park church Christmas tree in the sanctuary, after service.

Blessings, well wishes, and high hopes!
