Children and Youth Ministry Update from Nordia Bennett, Children’s Minister

December 17th,2021 Categories: Latest News

This past Sunday, the children and I dived deep into the text of 1 John 3:1-3 and talked about the wonders of God and how our qualities in which we see in ourselves help us to see the manifestation of God in our lives. In addition, the 10:30 AM younger group, spent some time in Tiny Truths Bible, “Jesus Helps & Heals.” Students were able to share who they turn to when they are hurt and in trouble— students were able to identify friends, family, and loved ones as people they can trust. At 10 AM, the older group discussed the importance of being brave and how showing up and speaking truth is possible— bravery is a quality we all possess and can share with others as a way of being authentic.

In addition, the older group shared they will be more present to how brave they are with others and when they notice a hesitancy, they will find the courage to still speak up.

This Sunday, our older and younger students will meet at 10 am (4th grade or older) for fellowship to read 1 Samuel 2:1-10. We’ll discuss how music helps us express ourselves and tell our stories. 10:30 am (3rd grade or younger) will be exploring Psalms 65:8, “Joy” in The Tiny Truths Wisdom & Wonder.

Warmly,

Minister Nordia
