Children and Youth Ministry Update from Nordia Bennett, Children’s Minister

Hi Park Family,

Last Sunday, the 10:00 am (4th grade or older) youth explored “The Fox and Hen”, Luke 13:31-35 in the “Who Can We Be Together? A Biblical Exploration of Luke 13”. We had the opportunity to have a rich conversation about how our communities would describe us and see us. As in the narrative while Jesus was interacting with community with care and love, the higher powers involved did not see Jesus in the same light. So, perception is always at play and how the youth can begin seeing themselves as beautifully and wonderfully made.  The 10:30 am (3rd grade or younger) children read the “Elijah and the Widow” narrative in the Sparks Story Bible: Spark a Journey Through God’s Word. We had the opportunity to chat about God providing for Elijah in the most subtle way, and how do we show up in our communities in the smallest way and how our favorite meals bring us closer to our community.

This Sunday, the 10:00 am (4th grade or older) youth will explore 2 Kings 4:42-44. The 10:30 am (3rd grade or younger) children will dive into the “Elisha Feeds 100” narrative in the Sparks Story Bible: Spark a Journey Through God’s Word.

Warmly,
Minister Nordia
