Children and Youth Ministry Update from Kelsey Creech, Resident Seminarian

October 8th,2021 Categories: Latest News
Last Sunday, our children’s ministries read and reflected on themes of generosity and justice. At 10 AM, our older students read Matthew 20:1-16, then spoke about forgiveness and the grace of God. In our 10:30 group, we read “The Prodigal Son” in our Tiny Truths Illustrated Bible. We all spent time considering whether justice and generosity could co-exist and how we can know when things are unjust and when they are  just and generous. We concluded that justice and fairness are not always the same, and decided to strive for justice in all  things and generosity whenever justice is achieved. We prayed, sang, and left with a prayer and blessing as always.

This Sunday, our older students will meet at 10 AM for fellowship and to read Psalm 8. We’ll talk about the scripture, diving into whichever verses interest them most. Then, at 10:30 AM, our younger children will read “God is Faithful” in our Tiny Truths Wonder &  Wisdom. We will discuss God’s faithfulness and how we each find God and feel God’s presence.

I  pray that each of you have found the Divine where you needed God this week.Joyfully yours,

Kelsey Creech
Resident Seminarian
